Congratulations to Clara McKnight for being named a winner in the 2015 National Council of Teachers of English annual writing contest.  This is a big honor and the English Dept is super proud!  Way to go Clara!

Did you know…..4/22/15  Today is  Earth Day!  

Earth Day Festival on Saturday April 25th 10 AM to 1 PM  at the Severna Park Middle School.  
Join the Green Club and over 60 exhibitors with exotic animals,games, trees for sale and more.  You can earn 1 NHS merit for attending by finding the Green Club booth and signing the sign up sheet at the booth.

Last call for PROM! If anyone would still like to attend or has any questions please see Ms. Hendler in room D201 by Monday, April 29th.

 

Juniors:

  Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is taking nominations now for their two scholarships: Computing Medal and Scholarship Program and for their Creativity and Innovation Award. Each approved nominee will receive a scholarship valued at a total of $28,000 if accepted and enrolled at RIT. Qualified nominees must rank in the top 10% of the junior class, be leaders and have a strong interest in computing or creativity.  The deadline is May 8.  See Ms. McCloskey in the counseling center for more information.

 

Do you want to help a local child facing a life-threatening illness?  Do you need merits? Participate in Wish Week! Buy a Severna Park Falcon bandanna, donate money, and sign up for “Walk for Wishes” to earn a maximum of 4 merits. There will be bandannas for sale and opportunities to sign up for the walk during all lunches on Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. Then, to continue this spectacular week, Mr. Rob will be selling snowballs from 2-3 p.m. on the front patio today and tomorrow to benefit Make a Wish. To top off Wish Week, bring money to your advisory and participate in the Miracle Minute Contest! The advisory with the most money donated in the designated 60 seconds of music wins a Donut Shack breakfast!
