Congratulations to Clara McKnight for being named a winner in the 2015 National Council of Teachers of English annual writing contest.  This is a big honor and the English Dept is super proud!  Way to go Clara!

Support the National Arthritic Foundation by purchasing snacks after school EACH THURSDAY after school in May, in the MAIN LOBBY.  Support  One…Four….One.. with just a $1 each for these delicious snacks, and help fund this great organization.

Come to the SP-Broadneck Film Fest tonight at 7pm att Broadneck High School!Tickets are on sale at the door!
 
The Leadership 3 group Little Helpers will be in the senior parking lot from 12:30-3 pm on May 20 and 21 collecting canned foods, pasta, spaghetti sauce, powdered drink mix and cereal. They are trying to fill their Ford with as much food as possible to donate to Sarah’s House, a homeless shelter in Anne Arundel County. If you donate five items you get 1 merit and 2 merits for 10 items. 


THE TALON IS OUT – GRAB YOUR COPY OF THE MAY ISSUE OF THE TALON!
This current issue is the special edition – COLLEGE ISSUE – that lists the destinations of the senior class.
Limited number of copies, pick up yours beginning on Friday, May 15th

SENIOR DISTRIBUTION:  A special SENIORS ONLY distribution will take place on Thursday, May 21 in the Cafeteria after school.  SENIORS who pre-purchased a book may come from 2:05-3 PM to pick up their yearbook BEFORE the underclassmen. 

SENIORS will get the FIRST opportunity to purchase the extra yearbooks during this special distribution.  The cost is $140, and seniors MUST BRING CASH.  There is a VERY LIMITED number of extra books.  After the senior distribution, IF THERE ARE EXTRA BOOKS, they will be offered to the entire student body.

SENIORS MUST BRING A PICTURE ID in order to pick up their book – NO EXCEPTIONS. Students may NOT bring a print out from the guidance as proof of ID. Students are encouraged to bring their receipt as proof of purchase WITH their picture ID. Students may NOT pick up a book for another student. Parents may pick up books at distribution time WITH an ID.


The Student Government Association plans Homecoming, the Pep Rally, Spirit Weeks, Teacher Appreciation Luncheons, the Polar Bear Plunge, and MORE! Thinking of running for SGA Office?  Elections are coming up! SGA Officer Nomination Forms are now available from Dr. Seg, and in the main office. Forms are due on May 19th by 2:10. Elections will be held in the Auditorium the 1st half of 4th period on Thursday May 21st!!  EVERY student is a member of the SGA – and is eligible to vote!! 
 
Attention Juniors - Any interested Junior who wishes to apply for a FALL 2015 Senior parking permit MUST attend one of the “Safe Driving” Workshops scheduled on:  Thursday, May 21st  OR Wednesday, May 27th after school in the Cafeteria.  Parking permit applications will be distributed AFTER each workshop.  Instructions for completing the application, fees and deadlines will be discussed at this time.  Questions?  Please see Mrs. Harring.
