It’s Ally Week sponsored by GSA!

GSA members will be at all lunches collecting names of those who are Allies against anti-LGBT language, bullying and harassment in our school.

All students and staff wishing to sign up as an Ally may do so at the Ally Week table at all lunches next week.

When you sign up as an ally you may also elect to participate in the Day of Silence that will take place this Friday.

April 17, 2015 is the National Day of Silence.  Our GSA and the Baltimore Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network invite everyone to join thousands of students and staff around the country that will remain silent for all or part of the school day on Friday.  This display of silence calls attention to the harassment and discrimination faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.

If you participate in the Day of Silence you are agreeing to the following rules:
1.     During class time, if it is necessary for you to speak for academic purposes, you must do so.  Refusal to speak during class is not condoned by the GSA and will be considered insubordination.
2.     If at any time you are directly asked a question by an adult, you must answer.
3.     In order to participate in the Day of Silence you must obtain a pass available at the Ally table next week during lunches.

The GSA thanks all of our Allies for their support and we’ll see you at the Ally lunch table next week!
